Condition Description
We primarily stock handbags and accessories that come directly from the brand’s boutiques. Our items are typically accompanied with the same items that come with the bag when purchased at the boutique, including original box and dust bags. Crocodile, alligator and lizard items are typically accompanied by a CITES if new or never worn. Most new or never worn Hermès handbags (and some Chanel handbags) have the original or a copy of the original receipt, which can be provided on request. Please note that all receipts are redacted to hide the original buyer’s information.
We also carry a curated selection of gently used and vintage items.

Madison Avenue Couture classifies conditions as following:
New & Never Worn
Never Worn
The item has never been worn but is more than five years old and has been carefully handled. Plastic is on the hardware. It may show minor storage wear.New
The item is in boutique-fresh condition and has never been used. It comes with all original accompaniments and with protective plastic intact on the hardware.Pre-Owned
Mint
The item shows only minimal wear and has been carefully maintained. Plastic may have been removed from all or some of the hardware.
Excellent to Mint
This item shows slightly more wear but has been carefully maintained. There may be more signs of wear on the leather and/or hardware.
Excellent
The item shows moderate wear. There are visible signs of wear to the leather and hardware.
Very Good
The item shows clear signs of use to the leather and hardware. The shape of the bag is relaxed.
Vintage
Mint
The item is vintage but shows minimal signs of wear given its age and use. There may be minimal wear to the leather and/or hardware and slight signs of natural aging. Signs of natural aging can (but do not necessarily) include slight loss of structure and/or loss of puffiness to the quilting of the leather. The item may have been professionally retouched.
Excellent to Mint
This item is vintage and shows slightly more wear but has been carefully maintained. There may be more signs of wear on the leather and/or hardware.
Excellent
The item is vintage and shows moderate signs of wear due to aging and use. This item will have wear to the leather and hardware. The item may have been professionally retouched.
Very Good
The item is vintage and shows clear signs of use to the leather and hardware. The shape of the bag is relaxed.
